Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) poses a significant threat to our environment. Bring your HHW to our HHW facility in Pasco where we can properly dispose of it. Each vehicle is limited to 5 gallons of liquid hazardous waste per visit.

 

We accept:

  • Tires
  • Car batteries and antifreeze
  • Appliances
  • Freon appliances such as refrigerators. freezers, or room air conditioners
  • Non-Freon-using appliances such as stoves
  • Chemicals, cleaners, aerosols
  • Oil-based paints and solvents (for small amounts of latex paint, let the liquid evaporate.
    Discard the can and remaining solid waste residues with your everyday household refuse.)
  • Pesticides and herbicides cleaners

We will not accept:

  • Explosives
  • Asbestos
  • Industrial Waste
  • Agricultural Waste
  • Radioactive Materials
  • Ammunition
  • Medical Waste
  • Commericial Waste

Where to bring your HHW:

Franklin County Residents:
Bring HHW’s to the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility just off the Kahlotus highway. [map] Before you arrive, be sure you call (509) 547-6666 for an appointment. All Franklin County residents can dispose household hazardous waste at the HHW for free. (No commercial establishments or commercially generated waste.)

Benton County Residents:

Benton County Residents need to contact the Benton County HHW Facility.

Selah, Union Gap, Wapato, Moxee:
