Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) poses a significant threat to our environment. Bring your HHW to our HHW facility in Pasco where we can properly dispose of it. Each vehicle is limited to 5 gallons of liquid hazardous waste per visit.
We accept:
- Tires
- Car batteries and antifreeze
- Appliances
- Freon appliances such as refrigerators. freezers, or room air conditioners
- Non-Freon-using appliances such as stoves
- Chemicals, cleaners, aerosols
- Oil-based paints and solvents (for small amounts of latex paint, let the liquid evaporate.
Discard the can and remaining solid waste residues with your everyday household refuse.) - Pesticides and herbicides cleaners
We will not accept:
- Explosives
- Asbestos
- Industrial Waste
- Agricultural Waste
- Radioactive Materials
- Ammunition
- Medical Waste
- Commericial Waste

Franklin County Residents:
Bring HHW’s to the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility just off the Kahlotus highway. [map] Before you arrive, be sure you call (509) 547-6666 for an appointment. All Franklin County residents can dispose household hazardous waste at the HHW for free. (No commercial establishments or commercially generated waste.)
